RyanEliottportrait

Ryan Elliott has a long-established reputation as one of the Detroit area’s most adept techno DJs. Releasing his first tracks in 2007 with Ann Arbor, Michigan‘s Ghostly International label, he soon became half the A&R management on its techno offshoot Spectral Sound (alongside its flagship artist Matthew Dear). After over a decade of working at the local Ford Motor Company while increasingly playing to weekend crowds at clubs and festivals around the world — from New York’s Guggenheim Museum to Barcelona’s Sonar —  this “DJ’s DJ” moved his meticulous ear and bottomless record collection to Berlin in 2009 and soon secured a residency at the city’s most renowned club mecca, alternating between techno at Berghain and house at Panoramabar each month.

Influenced by his hometown staples like Axis, Purpose Maker, M-Plant, Underground Resistance, along with international labels like Perlon, Playhouse, and early Kompakt, Ryan Elliott’s sound remains unchanged even after his relocation: bassline-driven techno and house reduced to their essences, thoughtfully calibrated to drive crowds out of their minds. “Berlin and Detroit may not look the same, but they feel the same,” he says. “The connection isn’t just in the music, but also in both cities’ rough edges and honest hearts.”

Berghain

Berghain

2009年, 連同他多不勝數的黑膠珍藏搬遷到 Berlin , 極速成為殿堂級的 Berghain & Panorama Bar 駐場DJ 交替著他獨特, 深不見底的 Techno & House!

jimpster

Jamie Odell a.k.a. Jimpster and Franc Spangler has been producing, remixing and DJing for the last 20 years and co-running esteemed UK deep house label Freerange Records (voted Best British Label 2007 in DJ Mag) for the last 16 of those.

More recently he set up Delusions Of Grandeur as an outlet for more underground and raw tracks, introducing and helping to establish artists such as 6th Borough Project, Tornado Wallace and Session Victim. His musical upbringing and very early introduction to production (his first release was on influential UK label Jumpin’ & Pumpin’ in 1990 alongside labelmates Future Sound Of London) have helped him forge a sound that is both warm and deep as well as being innovative and club friendly, a style which is naturally reflected in the releases on his labels.

His seminal Jimpster LP “Messages From The Hub” (1997) as well as his early dancefloor orientated Audiomontage 12″  helped establish Jamie as an artist of  merit and he quickly became in regular demand as a remixer (over 85 at the last count!) and coproducer on a wide range of underground projects.  Recent artists to get the Jimpster remix midas touch include Freak Seven, Josh Wink, Photon Inc, Osunlade, Bob Marley, Joris Voorn, Seal, Marc Romboy, Solomun and Kollektiv Turmstrasse. His third Jimpster LP “Amour” was released 7 years ago on Freerange to excellent critical acclaim and appeared in numerous published Top 20 Albums-of-the-Year charts (2006).

Over the past 10 years Jamie has built up a reputation as a highly regarded DJ around the world, having played over 100 gigs last year alone. With an emphasis on the deeper end of electronic house, but not afraid to stray from the path, he retains an old school approach that has seen him booked for gigs as diverse as Fabric (London), Panorama Bar and Watergate (Berlin), Cielo (NYC), Warehouse702 (Tokyo), Zoo Project (Ibiza), D-Edge (Sao Paulo), GOA @ Fabrik (Madrid).

Humdrum Hong Kong’s free monthly house and techno party is back at Bassment Bar with resident DJs Casey Anderson and Ocean Lam, as well as guests Man-l & Natalie!

Man-LBorn in Girona, Spain, Man-L discovered very young his love for music, listening to post punk bands like The Cure, Chameleons, The Sound and Joy Division. It was in the early 90s when he got attracted to electronic music and bands like Nitzer Ebb, Plastikman and Front 242. Making the first steps into own productions, Man-L bought his first equipment and teamed up with Neuron to create first tracks. In 1995 Man-L started DJing in Blau Club, organised raves and hosted Radiophobia, a local radio show.  His passion for music intensified when he began managing record stores, first with DJ Glòria (Lubna Records ) and later his own store called Random Records in his hometown of Girona.  Being a constant member of the electronic music scene in Girona has lead to residencies of several clubs such as Blau (Girona) , Rachdingue (Vilajuiga) and Pachá (Platja d’Aro) and he’s played in different clubs and festivals in Spain, France and Berlin. As a producer Man-L released digital EPs on labels such as Trazable, Soundfate, Buy you sell me , Ahoren Music, Arkitextura, Kina Music, and Aurora Records. Man-L is currently living in Berlin and organizes events under the name of Clam.

Devlar PromoOriginally from the USA, Devlar is a maestro of Macau‘s underground techno scene, where he has called home for 10 years. Inspired by sounds in Sao Paulo and Berlin, his sophisticated tech house and ear for the interesting have made him a go-to support DJ when the likes of Meat Katie, Layo & Bushwacka or 2000 & One make the rounds at the city’s casinos. While Hong Kongers may recognize him from the Secret Circus events, Devlar’s also toured to far out destinations like Guatemala and Brazil, and his gig history completely reflects the surreal glitz and seedy underground of Macau: from the Playboy Club and House of Dancing Water to Chiang Mai’s “THC Club“… this is gonna be one of those sultry, sinful ones!

Devlar is joined by Humdrum Hong Kong residents Casey Anderson and Ocean Lam. Expect deep house and techno, a much-loved visual show, a relaxing outdoor terrace and unpretentious music lovers dancing til tomorrow.
