Humdrum keeps the good times going with their free monthly party featuring DJs Casey Anderson and Ocean Lam along with the Philippines two leading DJs and producers, Alinep and Pav Parrotte.
Born and raised in Manila, Alinep comes from a family where music played a vital part of everyday life. Today Alinep’s musical imprint in his DJ sets are rooted in deep house to techno, minimal to tech house, Detroit to Chicago and his productions of deep house and techno further define his own club sound. Aside from music production and DJing, Alinep founded Manila Underground with Martin Lugtu and Pav Parrotte – a collective of local DJs, producers, promoters and foreign-locals who love and live for non-commercial electronic music. This will be Humdrum’s fourth time playing alongside Ali – trust us, we wouldn’t if he didn’t know how to rock a party!
Hailing from Liverpool and the Isle of Man (UK), Pav Parrotte has honed his turntable and mixing skills over a span of 19 years. After playing every major club in the UK from Voodoo to Ministry of Sound, in 2009 embarked on creating Manila’s only dedicated venue for underground electronic music, and in 2011 the three-story Filipino dance mecca TIME in Manila was born. Today he is the newest addition to Berlin’s legendary Plastic City label and with his DJing and production outfit Frequency Manila he remains an integral part of the Filipino club scene.
After a year of trying to sync up our schedules, Humdrum is thrilled to finally have Pav and Ali slamming some techno (and a bit of deep house) under our roof at Bassment! We hope you’ll join us for this special night with Asia Music! (It’s FREE!)
Satoshi Fumi is one of the new leaders of the Tokyo electronic underground with his unique style of self-described “deep tech house”. His rich imagination drive his exciting DJ appearances across the globe as well as his residency at the city’s top mega-club, WOMB. His prolific productions across many styles of house and techno have been acclaimed by Laurent Garnier, Ken Ishii, Nic Fanciulli and Sasse.
Brought up on house music from Detroit, Chicago and New York during the 1990s, he shaped his own sound based on the classics. He’s since collaborated with artists like Todd Terry, Kaito/Hiroshi Watanabe, and Funk D’Void, and released on quality labels like Mood Music, Klik Records, Plastic City, as well as his own labels Sequent:Recordings and Outerspace (with Osamu M).
